I know they do this, and it isn't right. How can they hit you with a moving violation, "racing on the highway" if you are not even in your car? Most people are parked, outside their cars, and watching. I can see giving a fine for spectating, but giving a moving violation doesn't seem legally sound. What if you walked to the races on foot? What are they going to take your license and give you a moving violation when you walked there and your car is miles away in your driveway? Yes, street racing is dangerous but it does not give the city the right to bend the rules and pass shady laws. I think if someone with money fights it, this practice will be shot down.
